Eucharistic Adoration
“The time you spend with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is the best time you will spend on earth. Each moment that you spend with Jesus will deepen your union with Him and make your soul everlastingly more glorious and beautiful in Heaven, and will help bring about everlasting peace on earth.”
– Saint Teresa of Calcutta
St. Michael’s offers Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament for silent hours of Eucharistic Adoration in our chapel every Wednesday after the 12:00n Mass until 6:00pm and every Thursday beginning after the 9:00am Mass and concluding at 6:00pm. Everyone is invited to come spend time with Jesus.
We are currently seeking parishioners who will commit to be Guardians.
What is a Guardian?
The Church’s instruction includes that there should always be a sufficient number of people present for eucharistic adoration before the Blessed Sacrament exposed. Every effort should be made to ensure that there be at least two people present. There must absolutely never be periods when the Blessed Sacrament is exposed and there is no one present for adoration.
A Guardian is one who commits to the same hour every week. If there is an occasion when a Guardian cannot make it, there is a list of Substitute Guardians who they can contact to take their place.
Please consider joining us in silent prayer during Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in the chapel every Wednesday by signing up for a committed hour between 12:30pm and 6:00pm. Once we have all hours filled, we will announce the day of commencement.
Plenary Indulgence
All those who assist at the Holy Hour of Adoration gain a plenary indulgence under the conditions of Sacramental Confession, Eucharistic Communion, and prayers for the intentions of the Holy Father. (Enchiridion of Indulgences, Vatican 1968)
