Anointing of the Sick

“Is there anyone sick among you?  Let him call for the priests of the church, and let them pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. This prayer made in faith, will save the sick person, the Lord will restore his health, and if he has committed any sins, they will be forgiven.” James 5:14,15

The Sacrament of Anointing should be given to the seriously ill, i.e., a person in danger of death from sickness or old age; any sick person even though no illness has been diagnosed; prior to surgery; elderly people even though no illness hasa been diagnosed; sick children if they have sufficient use of reason to benefit from the strength and consolation of the sacrament.

The Sacrament of Anointing is NOT the Last Rites! Call the Office at 770.534.3338 to obtain the Emergency phone number. The priest on duty will answer 24/7 in case of a life/death emergency.
